The water temperature came up a solid 10 degress this week! As you can imagine, this triggered an awesome redfish bite here in the Lowcountry. Last week, the fish were moving slow and were very lethargic – the only way to catch them consistently was to “dead stick” baits on the bottom. This weekend was completely different. Sunday we were able to sight-cast to happy fish that were eating artificial baits on the move. We also noticed the bigger fish becoming much more eager to find a meal. It seems like we always get a couple of really warm/calm days at the end of Janaury that turns the fishing on. We are so lucky to live on this beautiful stretch of coastline.
