Wow – we had some excellent fishing this weekend. The weather was near-perfect and the fish were shrimping hard – with backs and tails out of the water. We even saw one redfish leap completely out of the water attacking shrimp. It doesn’t get any better than a warm November day in the marsh. I fished with Clay & Penn on Saturday and then had my regular fly-guy Chris on Sunday. Chris is a devoted fly angler and an excellent fly caster – he can really put it on em. My advice would be to throw those shrimp patterns for the next several weeks – DOA shrimp, Gulp shrimp, and slow-sinking shrimp flies have all been effective lately.
