This August has been one for the books! The cooler air temps and rain have kept the water temperature much lower than normal – and the fish are loving it. I’ve never seen a redfish, trout, and flounder bite this good in August. We fished in the rain a couple times this week and the bite was great even in the pouring rain. Now September is rolling in and the fishing will just get better and better for tarpon, redfish, and trout.
Here’s a how-to video of a fly that I’ve been using lately – I call it the “laser minnow” and utilizes Senyo’s laser dub for the body. It’s a great fly for fishing the flooded grass. Tie one up and give it a try. Click here to view the video… Laser Minnow Fly
