Inshore Fishing Georgetown, SC – September 2012 – sharks and redfish

Pretty solid fishing this weekend. Fished with some awesome people over the last several days and caught plenty of redfish, trout, and some sharks. Things are really going to get good as the temperature drops throughout September. I’ll tell you a lure to check out if you haven’t already – Mirrolure’s “top dog” plug – the redfish have been all over it.

Georgia whooped this shark all by herself – pretty impressive!

Some father and son action – Alex made a perfect cast to this fish in the skinny water!

Justin caught his first redfish ever today – great work my man!

Shark Fishing and Redfish in Georgetown & Pawleys, SC – July 2012

Had a great few days fishing with some of my Greenville, SC buds. The redfish bite has been pretty solid with some bigger-size fish being caught in the shallows lately. The shark fishing is also great in all of the local inlets. Fishing live mullet in the 6-8″ range has been best for the large blacktip and finetooth sharks. The bait is really starting to invade the bays and inlets and the numbers of tarpon sightings should start to increase throughout the next several weeks. Make sure to look for large concentrations of bait…that’s what the fish are doing…looking for bait. If you find bait, you’re going to find bigger fish. Its that simple. Have fun out there!
